Smoothing the edge of a Coticule

Hi Everyone,

My Coticule has developed a rough edge on one side. It was there when purchased, but seems to be getting worse with use. What would be the best way to smooth that edge out?
Thanks,
Rich

Whatever stone you use to flatten the coticule normally, just roll the edge up at the same time. You could use 320 wet or dry sand paper on a smooth flat surface if you don't have a flattener yet. Just make sure it is kept wet when doing it.

by the way can you send pics ? so we all can get a closer look...

Sure, attached below :)

Without handling it - I can't say for sure; but I might chamfer that first, then seal with nail polish or CA glue, then lap the top flat.
I might also want to seal that one all around on each side.
I might be inclined to make the chamfer a little steeper than normal. Depends on how the stone reacts to the lapping.
Lastly - I'd probably lap/chamfer that one on w/d and definitely not with an agressive DMT.
