Smooth bourbon

Was wondering what you Folks sip

Right now it's Woodford Reserve for me

Anything else I should be considering??

Cheers

Being in Oz you might be able to get a hold of Four Roses. They tend to ship more outside the US, but I grabbed a bottle when I lived in KY and haven't regretted it. Small batch, especially.

I suppose you've tried Makers Mark?

I've not tried Woodford's, but in a sip off between Jack, Turkey and Basil Hayden, Makers is very still smooth and creamy.

Basil was pretty average bourbon for the price, I thought.

One good previous suggestion was the Four Roses single barrel - it is very, very smooth.
I would highly recommend Blantons and the Van Winkle 12 year lot B.
I think you will be pleased with both choices!

It's not too fancy, but I've been enjoying my Jim Beam Black, and have to say that it is exceptional in the smooth department.

Woodford is a fine drop.

Wild Turkey 12yo isn't bad

Elijah Craig 12yo is quite good

Maker's Mark is a good introduction to bourbons.

Jack Daniels Single Barrel is pretty good but then, that's Tennessee Whiskey, not bourbon.

As you can see, YMMV, but I'd suggest Evan Williams Single Barrel (2000 vintage).

Absolutely! I just picked up a bottle on recommendation from the other bourbon thread that was floating around recently, and I am very impressed. For a 26 dollar bottle to taste this good...

Woodford Reserve is great and I keep coming back to it. Smooth as silk.

Just about everything else mentioned is a good change of pace. I haven't had any lately but Knob Creek has been a favorite in the past as has Blanton's, which I don't think has been mentioned yet.

With Blanton's you get to collect all the different horses on the corks, one for each letter in "BLANTONS", including a different horse for each "N". Collecting all of them gives you an animated sequence of a race horse in full stride. (I am short one letter.) I am slow to catch up because I have been focused on Scotch Single Malts (Islay) an drinking mostly Woodford in between. For me this us a slow process.
