Smokey Soaps

Hey fellas, I was just looking for soaps on the internet and I was surprised to find this. It's called Mama Bear's Aromatic Pipe Tobacco Shaving Soap. This surprised me because I love the smell of tobbaco and other smokey/woody scents, not like super black death smoke though, and I was wondering if you had had any first hand accounts of soaps like this. Do they actually smell like what they say? Is it over powering? How does it lather?

I had some of it in a sample pack from Mama Bear. Good smelling soap. It is sweet smelling.

Never tried that particular Mama Bear's, but I did have some QCS Briar, which has the same scent description. I found it to be a bit more on the cherry side than tobacco, per se, and really no "smokiness" to it. It was a very pleasant scent, however.

Give I Coloniali a spin and see if it floats your boat. Not marketed that way, but I get a sweet-smoke tobacco-vetiver thing. I dig it.

I find that DRH Marlborough has a slight cedar smokiness that lingers in the background. Was not my thing, but it does have a fair number of supporters out there in forum land.

The Mama Bears Aromatic Pipe Tobacco has a very intense scent, I think. The scent lingers for a long time. I loved it! My wife did not! Get a sample before you buy the whole tub.

As mentioned, I coloniali, which I used today, has a very unusual scent and a mild tobacco scent will linger for awhile. This is a great summer soap as it has some menthol in it that is very cooling.

In all things regarding scents, YMMV.

I have about half of a tub of Briar left and I would agree with Price. Heavy on the cherry, which I like very much. Not smokey at all but the tobacco is definitely there. Regardless, the scent is phenomenal.

The aromatic pipe tobacco was my favorite out of the 18 samples I tried. I thought the lather was good. But I have many better performing soaps, otherwise I would have ordered a tub of the tobacco and one of dragons blood (my 2nd fave
