"Heres a neat tip for using a V-cutter on round head cigars. This is especially useful if you tend to over-clip and will help prevent your cigars from unraveling, too.
Sometimes, the thin slice made by a V-cutter does not expose enough tobacco on the head to draw a good amount of smoke, especially on ring gauges over 46. To correct this you can make an "X-cut." After making the first V-cut, turn the cigar 90-degrees and make a second V-cut. You'll get more smoke and flavor out of each draw".
