Slight brassing/rusting on my red-tip?

Hi everyone,

I've got a red-tip, and I love it dearly - it's certainly the best razor I've used in my short career as a wet-shaver.

I've noticed, however, that inside the head of the razor it is starting to discolour with a brass/rusty looking metal showing in the otherwise silver piece. Is this normal, or am I not taking care of the razor properly?

I ensure I was the razor head in hot water after shaving, then shake it dry, before leaving it partially open on a stand. I did, at one stage, dunk the head in isopropyl alcohol to displace any remaining water, but this left a white 'film' on the head after it dried.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Cheers,
P

It could be the chrome finish is worn. If it bothers
you, you can either replace it or get it replated.
I've read there are members here that replate
old razors.

If it's surface rust you can clean it with an old
toothbrush and colgate toothpaste.
