Slant + IP Red = AMAZING!

The Merkur Slant and IP reds are a new acquisition for me, and I can see my RBAD and RAD vanishing before my eyes. I think this was the 4th shave with the same blade, and maybe the smoothest I've had since beginning wet-shaving in July!

Anyone else find this combination intoxicating?!

My only issue is that I'm not sure where to get exactly the same blades. I know that there have been gobs of threads dedicated to trying to discern the differences between all the different "Personna" variations. I don't intend to resurrect that discussion, but I would like to know whether the two IP Reds available at WCS and BullGoose are the same. The box that I have looks like the one on WCS's website, but the blade wrappers on my blades are also identical (I think, but I don't have the blades in front of me to compare) to the one's inside the blue box on BullGoose's website. I'm confused!

They're the same blade. West Coast's picture is the older outer packaging.

Sorry if this is beating a dead horse, but should I be concerned that the blades on BullGoose are far cheaper than the ones on WCS?

I would not be concerned at all. Order at the best price.

I got a chuckle logging in today. This post was at the top and I shaved today with a slant and a red IP. A great shave. 2 passes and clean-up.

Sorry if this is beating a dead horse, but should I be concerned that the blades on BullGoose are far cheaper than the ones on WCS?

A difference of $3.00 per hundred. As shown on the websites Bullgoose's blades are packaged in the UK. West Coast's are packaged in Mexico. It's the same made in Israel blade inside.
West Coast also has the UK packaged ones for $2.00 a 10 pack. Bullgoose for $1.70 a 10 pack.

I've been jumping from Feathers to Dorcos to Derbys to Astras in my 1960 SS and 1956 red tip not really noticing too much of a difference between shaves. The Feathers seemed to last longer than the rest, but the shave itself wasn't too remarkable. As soon as I switched to the slant and IPs, it was like shaving on a different planet!

I haven't tried the IPs in other razors, but I find it hard to believe that anything can top the smoothness and closeness of this combination for me.

Do you find that IPs perform equally as well in other razors?
