Is there really a difference between ASCO red and orange blades?

Ive tried many different blades so far and absolutely loved the ASCO orange blades. I just tried the ASCO in the red package and found it shaved even better than the orange. Maybe this was because I tried using less water in my Ariana & Evans soap, but perhaps it was the blade itself.

Some people say that the only difference is the number of blades per package, but on razorbladesclub, it says the orange is PTFE coated and the red is “stainless steel”, although they both have the same packaging, and both say “super stainless blades” on the box.

What is your opinion on this?

From what I gather from Lord's website, the different colors are only blades per pack. However, production may not be consistent.

I think the difference is just the number of blades per pack. They're both PTFE coated. Stainless steel razor blades most always are.

P.S. There's also an ASCO Platinum, but those come in a different package.

What do you mean production may not be consistent? I was planning on buying 200 of them soon to stock up.

Both are the same blade.

Orange package contains 5 razor blades in pack, display case contains 100 blades.
Red package contains 10 razor blades in pack, display case contains 200 blades.

There's or was also a red-blue package from Asco is still the same blade and contains 5 razor blades.
This blade of differs only from Asco Platinum package different package, always contains 5 blades.

I really appreciate Asco blades.

The orange pack(left) is the only one that is PTFE(teflon) coated. The middle two are stainless only in differing quantities and the far right is platinum coated.

I have seen a lot of commentary about Lord blades having low quality control. I do not agree and I do like a lot of Lord blades.

I have orange Asco and orange Asco Platinum and I like them both a lot.

I bought a few 100 packs of the ASCO Orange off Amazon.

From what I recall at the time, the orange were 5 blades/pack and the red were 10 blades/pack, but both the same blade.

Asco orange blades are PTFE(teflon) coated?

If the source is RBC there must be another discussion in this forum where I was making the same point and the answer I was getting was that they are actually plain Super Stainless blades like the red Asco blades.

On the Lord manufacturer's website it says nothing about the PTFE coating on the orange Asco's.

They are probably not very reliable on RBC.

Changing the language from English to Italian, the two different types red and orange packages come back to be equal, both classified as Stainless Steel coated.
They are the same excellent blade only the color of the package and the amount inside the package changes, 5 blades in the orange one and 10 in the red one.
The PFTE-coated blades are the Racer also made by Lord.

The three Super Stainless are the same to me with the Platinum being slightly less sharp but smoother. These are among my favorite blades from Lord although the only Lord blade I didn't like was the Shark Super Stainless.

Should the three blades in the red, orange and red and blue packages all be the same blade?
The blades in the red and blue package in Europe are no longer seen but on AMZ Italy the orange Asco Super Stainless is written red and blue brackets.

I read reviews even there users who have tried them write that the PTFE treatment makes them docile on the skin.

They all seemed the same on my face looking back at my notes. They are sharp and smooth and I get 4 or 5 shaves (2 if I do a head shave).

After SEptember I am going to shave with the three variants again and see if my opinion changes.

Just stop reading the rubbish that the RBC is writing on their site regarding "coatings".

All blades that are made of stainless steel have PTFE (aka Teflon) sputtered and baked on top of the metal coatings. Even if they are marked "Platinum" on the package.

So all 4 blades pictured above (yes even the Platinum) have PTFE.

The first 3 blades that are the Super Stainless model are absolutely identical. I can tell you that because I have hundreds of all three. And have used many of them (orange, red, blue).

The model designated Platinum is different, shaves differently.
