Skin condition - Need Sage advice

Hi all.
I have recently been diagnosed with Seborrhoeic dermatitis and cannot now use items with soap, etc (feel free to google this. I am not as bad as some pictures but want to control it early on..).
Infact, I have to use things that are soap, alcohol and oil free. Anybody have experience in this area or can help me in my search for the best alternatives?

I am loving shaving but am hating the rash I now seem to be getting. I have an appointment with a dermatologist but value this site's experience and expertise.

Thanks for any help.

Whilst I sympathise with your situation, I would suggest that you contact your Dermatologist even before your appointment and ask if he can provide you with a list of products which meet your soap/alcohol/oil-free requirements.

+1. It's going to be tough to figure this out, but that's why they're paid the big bucks.

I saw the dermatologist last week who discussed soap, moisturiser, etc but like a fool I forgot to mention the shaving cream situation. Not back for another four weeks.

No worries, I will search the net or at the very worst, grow a beard..

I can only go off of what I was told by the person I saw. I assume she knows what she is talking about, being the professional. But I will check out the Mayo clinic advise.
I just wanted to follow her instruction to the letter so I could clearly see the outcome after the four weeks and know what next options I may have.

Not sure what you mean bout me contradicting myself. As stated, I have seen this person once but forgot to mention my shaving soap options to her. She advised me over cleansing and moisturising and that I should use a specific cream, Ketakomazole shampoo (obviously seplled wrong) and an oil fee, soap free, alcohol free cleanser. So I assume that I should not use a standard soap cream for my shaving.

As for the beard, that was definitely a joke...

He said that he saw a dermatologist (who is both a woman and a person!), was diagnosed, got advice on some grooming products but forgot to ask for recommendations on shaving products that he can use, is going back in a week and wonders if anybody has any experience to share with him in the interim.

It does seem that the Mayo Clinic advice and your dermatologist's advice are at odds, though. Give it a try and see if it improves and if it doesn't, see a different dermatologist? Good luck.

WiskyT.
Apologies if my post is confusing or if you feel you need to point out any issues. I have come on here to only ask advice from an experienced, understanding and community based bunch of people.
I did indeed state I have an appointment. It is an ongoing thing.. I assume it will be for some time.

Thanks to all advice from the people who have offered it. I will chase this up and consult the dermatologist when I see her again.
I hope to sort things out soon.

Denial.

Fingers crossed for a good solution, and I'm interested to hear how this works out.
