Simpsons Two-Band compared to Rooneys

I am curious about Simpsons two-band brushes. I am wondering, from those that have tried both, how they compare to a Rooney Super or a Rooney Finest. Assuming similar size handles and lofts.

I have a PJ2 and a Rooney 1/1 Super. They're actually very similar in my mind once both are broken in. The tips of the PJ2 start out pricklier and soften and aren't prickly at all. The tips on the 1/1 are soft but in a different way. You can really feel them, as though the hair is thicker at the tips. The Simpson's has very fine hair at the tips.
The backbone on the 1/1 starts out very stiff as does the PJ2, but after they're broken in, the 1/1 has a little less backbone and more bloom. It covers a little more of the face.
All my high quality brushes lather equally well in my mind, so I can't really compare them in that area.
I do prefer the Simpson's though. Though the characteristics are similar, the Simpson's is somehow different and feels nicer to me.

My Rooney 2/1 Finest was a great brush, but I just couldn't get the tips to soften up enough; the prickliness never completely disappeared. I am looking forward to trying a two-band Simpsons, since it has apparently gotten around some of the issues I've had with past three-bands.

I have 5 two-band Plissons, 4 two-band Simpsons, and 3 two-band Rooneys. To be honest, I can't tell that much difference between them. The lofts and knot sizes vary giving each of them different characteristics but the hair itself seems fairly similar. All of them are keepers in my eyes and all perform marvelously.

I love both of my two band brushes - a Simpsons CH2 & a Rooney 3/1.
Both are superb, I really don't think I could say which one is better.

However, I do think they have slightly different characteristics that could help someone choose between the two.

I think the easiest distinction is that the Rooney has much, much more backbone than any other brush I have ever used. Imagine a stiff boar brush with the softest tips you can imagine, and that's the Rooney 3/1 in Finest. There's just something about it! An amazingly unique brush.

Now the Two-band Simpsons CH2 definitely still has a lot of backbone and soft tips, but something (maybe the longer loft) makes it a bit softer, which is why I just might prefer that one a bit more.

In any case, both are great brushes and although expensive, are worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have been eyeing a couple Simpsons brushes lately for something different. The Tulip and the Emperor. Right now I got a 1/1 super and 3/1 finest. I think my curiosity for something not Rooney is going to get the best of me this holiday season. The 3/1 is breaking in so nice. I feel spoiled everytime I use it. Sometimes I just like something different.
