I rinse it thoroughly under tepid water, then gently dry it with a towel.
To store it while still moist, most of us use a stand to keep it loftside down but it is discussed sometimes whether keeping the loft up is OK too.

I think Simpson say that their brushes can be stored with the loft up, however should I own a Simpson I would still use the stand.

Simpson's recommends that the brush dry on its stand. I have several Simpson brushes (and just got a Tulip 2 two-band, which worked like a charm this AM), and I have tried using stands and not using stands. I don't think it makes virtually any difference. Of course the capillary phenomenon would tend to support anyone who rests it on its handle.

The bigger thing I have found is that the denser, bigger knot brushes (I recently had a Chubby 3 that was too unwieldy for me, so I traded it for a couple of other brushes on the B/S/T) take longer to completely dry, stand or no. So if you have a Chubby (heh), you might either need to dry it outside of the bathroom, or get another brush to alternate (and satisfy SBAD).

The general consensus is that it's certainly not necessary with high quality brushes such as the Simpson's, but it is recommended.

As the saying goes, "it's better to be safe than sorry" and if I'd invested in a good brush I'd want to show it off properly anyway :thumbup1:

There is no consensus on storing a brush in a stand with the hair facing down or storing it sitting on its handle with the hair facing upward. Just rinse it well under warm water, gently shake it out, gently dry the tips on a dry towel (see this mantic59 video on YouTube), then store it whichever way, up or down, allows you to sleep at night.

A Simpson's in best is my most used brush. I've used it probably 3-4 days a week for over a year with no shedding or degradation in the quality of either knot or handle. I rinse it out with warm water and give it couple of brisk shakes. I hang it in my stand but that is for aesthetics/convenience, gravity may help the knot to dry without mushrooming too much but I doubt it has much effect on drying.
