Simpson Rover LE or Jubilee LE Manchurian

I've been reading reviews of these and it seems both are great brushes for face lathering. I mainly use soap and presently using the Duke 1 for my everyday brush. For those of you who have used these, I've appreciate any thoughts on how each of these perform compared to the other. I do realize that YMMV. At the moment I'm not leaning towards any of the two, just looking for a brush that I can use every day.

I haven't used either of those brushes, but why are you looking at those, specifically, out of curiosity? There are so many great brushes that are great for face-lathering, so it really depends on what you want: type of hair, 2 or 3-band, density or size of knot, and length and style of handle. These may be more pertinent characteristics to consider, firstly. Just a suggestion as you can pick up some amazing custom brushes for a great price. Best of luck to you!

I have the Jubilee and for 99.9% of the time, I face lather. The Manchurian knot has soft tips and excellent backbone for face lathering. It is pricey but I had to get it out of my system so I buckled. Sometimes they pop up on the BST so keep your eyes peeled.

I recently found that a TGN finest 2 band fan is, IMO, very close to the Manchurian knot. It has the same softness and backbone. I installed the knot in my Rubberset 400-3.

I haven't tried the Rover so I can't help you there.

Edit: Cool! The first 3 posters are Canucks. We're taking over. Go Leafs GO!

Another Canuck posting....
As above, the size of the QEII is designed for face lathering.

The Rover is a very simple but ergonomic handle. I loved my Rover and it is one of the Simpson brushes I would consider repurchasing

I haven't tried the Rover, but the Jubilee is one if my favorites. I've owned 7 or 8 Simpson brushes and it is the only one I still have. It is phenomenal. I highly recommend it.

I'm with you, Lather, on your observations on the QEII Jubilee. It, my M&F Chief and restored Rubberset 400 with a TGN High Mountain White are my favorite three brushes-- I truly can't say I favor one over the others. As for the TGN 2-band Finest knots, they're exceptional and a great value.
