SimplyBeautiful Badger Brush on Amazon

Wish I saw that before buying my Tweezerman. I like my Tweezerman badger though, it is nice, but that looks so much nicer for the same money.

I do not have this..but from the photo it looks like it will be very floppy (too high of a loft). The slippery chrome handle would not be my favorite either.

thanks guys - should ship out at some point tomorrow and I anticipate getting it just before Thanksgiving - I'll be sure to check back in

I too am looking to upgrade. Currently have drug store boar, and I want a badger. I have been torn between 2... 1) the $12 Tweezerman and 2) the Edwin jagger faux tortise for $20. *both on amazon*

I'm in the same boat. Only have the VDH Boar, ordered the simplybeautiful one last night, should be here in a few days.

Received my "SimplyBeautiful" brush today. It is HEAVY handled. It will sink in the sink during a soak...
Of course it arrived about 15 minutes after I shaved already for the day...so it will wait until Monday to get used to lather me up.
Brush seems to be decent...this is my 1st badger so its all relative I suppose.

Got mine yesterday as well, very impressed with the weight. Smells awful, but I'm sure that will improve after a few lathers. Can't wait to use it.

Another pure badger in that $15 range is this Escali brush. Never heard of the brand, but for the price, it's not a bad brush.

I bought this as my first brush one month ago, and use it 6 days a week (yes, I even shave one of my two days off.) I was looking for an inexpensive start to wet shaving, and thought I'd give it a try.
When I first opened the box, I was prepared for that NEW badger smell but to my surprise NO ODOR . I bowl lather and had no trouble whipping some soap or cream, a tad prickly but also a pleasant sensation. I use TABAC Soap or LA TOJA Cream and I get a THICK, SLICK and Protective lather in five minutes :tongue_sm, enough for three passes and some left over, The brush is not a water hog and produces plenty of lather:001_tt2:. :001_tt2: :001_tt2: If you want good value this is it I definitely would buy this again.

I was able to try it out last night...you have to be careful on the pre-soak, that handle is metal and gets HOT! I had to submerse in a cup instead of the sink - no big deal there.

I put an almond-size of CO Bigelow shave cream directly on the brush and worked it onto my face...it lathered up a nice thick foam over three separate applications.

I am pleased - much better than the synthetic and the boar hair brushes I have. Just enough scritchiness...

Been using mine since Sunday. Definitely a better latherer than the boar, and the handle fits in my hand better and the weight makes it easier to manipulate.

Also, looks great with my Parker:

(Yes, prototype coat hanger stands)

Big shout out to a fellow Delawarean!!! My wife and I lived in Newark for few years before we started moving south. Glad to see other people are DE shaving in DE.

BTW, that's a nice looking brush.:thumbup1:

this is just my technique for someone who has been using a bunch of different badgers for about half a year, so take it for it's worth. I don't soak the brushes anymore... i slowly rotate the brush in the tap flow of some hot to warm water for about 5-7 seconds... it seems to work just as well. I am sure others have differing opinions no the efficacy of a pre-soak. just my opinion.
