Silvermax Indian blades with Japanese steel

In the past few days I also purchased a package of Silvermax blades but I don't read many opinions about this blade.
I think I read a few members complaining about poor performance.
From what I understand they are made in India by the same company as Euromax both should be cryo sputtered treatment?

I don't remember Euromax but these Silvermax blades it says they use high quality Japanese steel.
Is there any member who uses them and can give a favorable opinion about them?

I cannot comment on your question, except that the words Japanese Steel got my attention. I bought a pack of Gillette Super Thins made in China advertised as made with Japanese Steel and they are so good that anytime I see those words now I will notice.

I've used Euromax recently and I can tell you it's a decent blade!
Comfortable sharp, effective, and long lasting (got 14 shaves as I recall). Plus, they were really cheap when I bought them, something like 40 cents per tuck of 5. I don't need anything more than that (do you?).

YMMV, but I recommend you to give them a chance

I used the Euromax and liked them although not my absolute favorite blades.

I remembered that the Silvermax were quite similar to the Euromax as a material, and in fact the Euromax are also made of Japanese steel with added Cryo Sputtered treatment.

Yes, I also believe the packaging is similar to the Euromax maybe even the blade.
The Indian company that makes them is the same called Vertice.

For 0.55 € the package of ten blades I wanted remove the doubt by trying them.

I wonder what is better: Japanese steel or Swedish steel. :)
Swedish steel typically means high quality ore that goes straight into the furnace with some additives and contains natural impurities from the specific Swedish source that are better suited to blades than other high quality ores that go straight into the furnace. Japanese steel typically means lower grade ore or recycled steel, that is refined of impurities before going into the furnace with some additives, so it should be more engineered, of better quality, and of course, more expensive due to the refining step. Also, since the raw material is refined, it often means only the design of the alloy is Japanese, and the steel is Chinese. There are some Japanese alloy designations specific to Japan or Japanese facilities, but if it just says "Japanese Steel" then it is probably something like Chinese 6Cr13. Some traditional Japanese steel is low grade Japanese ore straight to the furnace, but that is for expensive traditional blacksmith stuff, and doesn't have very good properties by modern standards. No one is making disposable razor blades from it.

I have been using the Vertice Global blades lately (I like to try products that are sometimes overlooked), and the EUROMAX blades are incredible...especially for the price point!

I agree, they are both very good quality blades but Euromax blades unlike Silvermax are only produced by Vertice Global remaining a private label. They are now available in dispensers and different packaging than what we have seen so far.

I've only used the Euromax EMP800 as that one is easy to get off AMZ in the USA. It's pretty good in my opinion along the lines of the better Lords and Treets. I would like to do a head-to-head matchup of the EMP800 with the Treet Platinum someday since they are in the same price point for my market. Sort of a top "budget blade" face-off.
