On Facebook here is Schick's latest statement about shaving...shave more and your wife or girlfriend gets hotter....I never knew this...lol

Schick Hydro Experience

Listen Up! Think shaving's a chore? Our new Schick Hydro Skin-dex study will make you reconsider. According to our research, guys who shave 5 days a week or more are more confident, have hotter partners, and are more satisfied with their lives than those who shave less often. Time to re-think that stubble!

Well, ...

I used to work on a crew with this one guy who did not shave all the time.
His buddies told me that you could tell when his wife had her period by checking whether he shaved that day or not. He did not shave several days a month. Other days, he did. Go figure.

It's a hygiene confidence thing. Man feels better about himself, conducts himself in a more confident and often mature manner. This allows him to be more attractive to the opposite sex and causes him to go after the 'hotter' girl. It's more about how he is about himself. How having the look of feeling great makes him feel confident about himself.

1. Actual studies show women prefer stubble, and the way it accentuates the jawline.

2. Men who shave five or more days a week, most likely hold white-collar professional jobs that display high Survival & Replication value, and provide a steady, large income.

Their study is a ridiculously transparent ploy to encourage sales.

My wife likes me clean shaven, my job likes me clean shaven and I like me clean shaven.
Plus, it means I get to try a different combo each day.

more creams! more blades! more razors!!!

It's amazing how often people wither purposely or foolishly confuse causes and effects in interpreting numbers. This "study" almost certainly shows that more confident and successful people shave more.

That show "The First 48 Hours" drives me crazy for similar reasons. They make this big deal about how a crime that isn't solved in 48 hours is much more likely to go unsolved. Then the whole show is premised on the 48 hour countdown, as if the cops are working against a deadline where the case gets twice as difficult to solve after 48 hours. Here again, it is almost certainly the case that easier crimes tend to get solved quickly (i.e., within 48 hours) while harder crimes never get solved. If someone did a study that found people get the right answer more often on math problems they are able to solve in one minute than math problems that take longer, would you conclude that the math gets harder after one minute? Of course not. You would conclude that finding the solution within one minute indicates that the person taking the test easily understands the problem, and that people who take longer don't understand it. The "first 48 hours" is the same thing.

My but that was a rant. I'm not sure where it came from.

Anyhoo, carry on.

Burma Shave was saying this in their roadside rhymes 80 years ago. Some ladies prefer a clean shaven man and vice versa.

I just saw this thread... My wife of 30 years is gorgeous/hot. I had a full beard for 32 years and she never knew/saw me without a beard until Sept 2009. I shaved by choice...I wet shave because I like it and learned wet shaving as a teen. It took her 2 weeks to get used to my new appearance. She likes the shaven face but says that either clean shaven or bearded is fine with her. My "study" indicates there is no real preference. :thumbup:

My girlfriend would prefer that I always have a two-day stubble going on if she could get her way. Too bad I love shaving too much to give it up (not to mention with my job I should really be clean shaven)! I try to strike a balance by shaving every day during the work week except Friday, then go with the stubble on weekends.

I know, right?

Here's part of the article about the British study suggesting:

"Clean-shaven men finished bottom for masculinity, dominance, aggression, and social maturity, and they were the least favoured choice as a long-term partner. They came second-to-last for attractiveness."

Either way, my life:

weekend = stubble

weekday = shaving.

And, FWIW, my girlfriend likes the weekend stubble.
