Should I reset because of this.

Attempting some honing today, good theraputic activity. I do not pretend to be able to hone a good shaving edge reliably, but I am pretty experianced at sharpening knives and am learning razors. This old razor I rescaled and cleaned up decided to reveal some pits very near the edge, but do not appear to be on the apex. Should I take this back to 1K to reset and remove these? This is the only spot with them on the edge and its right in the middle of the blade. I am currently at 6K film with it, I have lost my loupe, so edge inspections have been either mechanical or with my opti visor, which is why I missed this before now.

That's just a picture, no magnification? If so, you need to rehone. I see a divot in the blade about 4mm right of that pitting cluster (on my screen) that troubles me more than the pitting.

That said, I'd sand that pitting out before rehoning.

Yes that is zoomed in to about 5x. These pits are hardly noticeable under natural light and using naked eye.

The divot, are you talking about a wavyness in the edge? About the same distance to the right, as the cluster is wide?
