Shipping issues with vendor

Hello. I have heard all good things from whatever I could find on the internet about the vendor Star Shaving. I have been looking at synthetic brushes and want to get one since I am not happy with all of the 2 brushes that I own. They are too floppy and I just cannot tolerate it. I have heard good things about the Frank synthetic shaving brush and the only vendor in the US that sells it in the US is star shaving. I have heard they ship quickly. I have also heard that some people have problems with the knots being crooked and leaning more to one side than the other. Therefore, I made sure to write, "Make sure the knot is perfectly straight" in the seller notes while checking out. However, I have been expecting an email that tells me the item has been shipped for the past 4 days. I ordered last thursday night on the 21st of June and have heard no word form star shaving about my package. I called several times and got lots of rings and then some strange fax-machine sounding noises when I called the number on the website or no answer. I also found another number which I think is Ron Lucas, the owner's, personal number but I found it on theknifegroup.com through a google search. That phone went to the answering machine and I called a couple hours ago. I have been checking my email everyday awaiting the shipment of the brush I very much want to try but I never see it. Sometimes I check multiple times a day and nothing not even a response to the email I sent to [email protected] asking if the package has been shipped yet. I really don't know what's going on. I heard the owner had a surgery a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything since then. Also, I heard that while he was having surgery, his daughter was fulfilling orders and that was 2 or 3 weeks ago according to information on a forum I found through another google search. If anybody knows what's going on, please tell me because I hope my package isn't lost and I paid the little bit extra for priority shipping.
 
i have dealt with them several times and they are one of my favorite vendors.... their service is usually top notch.... must be something wrong....
 
Perhaps they are out of town unexpectedly? Small shops can be affected by things that a larger company can just work through. Excluding the weekend its only been a couple of days.
 
Interesting. I placed an order with them on the 22nd and have not received a shipping notice either (mine was for a strop). I haven't inquired to them yet (I was going to give it another day), but I will post up if I hear something. For the record, I did NOT up my shipping to priority.
 
Thanks. You're in oklahoma so I assume the previous post might be true, but I'm not sure why their phone doesnt have an answering machine and instead goes to some series of beeps and noises like a fax machine but more high pitched and strange.
 
I'm curious what phone number on the website you called. I don't readily see a phone number on the their website, so they may not intend for that number to be used for the business and that is why there isn't an answering machine.
 
It's in the about us section. I also called a phone number that I found on google and it says Ron Lucas owner of star shaving on theknifegroup.com
 
Star Shaving is fine, I believe someone in the family was having health issues earlier and they fell behind on orders. There's a thread here somewhere about this but my search-fu is weak today it seems.
 
Good news. They shipped just half an hour ago. I guess they were just fell behind on some orders. I hope my frank synthetic brush will be worth the wait.

AABCDS - would you mind expanding on your earlier comment? Do you have a problem with Star Shaving or with one of the posters in this thread? I feel we're all big boys here and can carry on an adult conversation without sideways glances and vague jibes at someone's integrity.
 
I'm going to keep an eye on this thread too...I ordered a strop from them on Monday and have yet to receive a shipping notice. No reply from their sales email address either.
 
I've just received a reply from them. It seems the owner had surgery recently and they're behind on orders a bit. But they're working to get caught up; just have to be patient.
 
I received a reply from them too. However, I didn't ask them anything about the surgery. Did you ask Ron about or did you figure that out the same way I did, from searching on google?

i stand by my assertion they are a top notch vendor.... i do love both of my 3" big daddy strops...
