Shipping blade internationally

Hello everyone,

First off, I apologize if I posted this in the wrong category. I wasn't sure where to put it. Also, I tried to find a thread about a similar topic, but could not.

Does anyone here have experience shipping DE razor blades internationally? I have a person that has asked me to send some blades from the US to Sweden. I don't know if it will be worth the hassle. So, I thought someone here may have some insight. Again, I am sorry if this should go somewhere else.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Are the blades in a plastic tuck like the feather ones or even a cardboard one like Astra?
If so it shouldn't be a problem.
If not then maybe wrap them tightly together and even use a bit of cling film to bind them together.
I've not had any problems sending blades international.
A bubble wrap envelope should help to bear some of the brunt from being thrown around too.

I sent a blade assortment to one of our Canadian friends here on B&B. They were in the original packaging (Voskhod, Rapira PL, Red IP, etc.) in a padded envelope, and I put 'shaver parts' on the customs form.
Outside of cost, there's really no issue.

A lot of my blades are shipped to me from overseas ( Turkey, UK, US etc ) with no issues. I have also shipped blades to US with no problems.

I was worried when I bought a bulk lot of SR's but I think you'll find shaving products have an exemption from dangerous goods... I did some legislation research for my country and found SR's specifically mentioned as an exemption from illicit weapons importation. I didn't look up DE blades but I could only assume there is no issue because I have bought them in bulk a few times and I'd imagine many people would.

Packaging the blades should not be much of a problem ... bubble-wrap or tape them to a stiff piece of cardboard so they don't slide around.

I've found that declaring the contents to the Postal Clerk raises too many questions and causes a lot of delays. Better to list them as "Gift Items" or "mechanical parts," since the mention of "Razor Blades" seems to send the USPS personnel into a paranoid frenzy.
