Shining up my razors

I was wondering if it is safe to use silver metal polish on my gillette razors. I am putting two of them in storage, for future use and want to shine them up a bit as they are pretty dull, even after their cleaning. Please let me know if it would be alright to do this. Thanks!

Blue Magic, Flitz or MAAS are the most recommended polishes.
You have to be careful with too robust a polish, or being too aggressive with the ones I mentioned because the Nickel plating on the razors is not THAT thick.

Polish is NOT recommended for gold plated razors, because they have a lquer finish to protect the even thinner gold plate.

Silver plated razors need a specific silver polish, or very cautious use of Tarnx, or the old aluminum foil/baking soda trick.
Personally, the Tarnx is a heck of a lot easier.

Good Luck

I've had great success using MAAS and a dremel with the felt buffing wheel. If you choose to use the dremel be careful as these razors have thin plating and you can burn right through to the brass. Just use a lower rpm and be careful to not use much pressure.

I have had good luck with Flitz, I find it more mild than MAAS, and plain old paper towel. I have unintentionally removed gold with both however. I would aggree with luvmysuper on the advice.
