Shedding Kent badger brush

My first badger brush is a Kent BK2. I have found it to be a great brush and use it almost daily. The thing is though, it's coming up to nearly 2 months old and it still seems to be shedding hair. Not in clumps but singular hairs and pretty often.
I know its not the most expensive/best quality brush but should it be still shedding?

I think you mean to say "I know it's expensive and one of the best quality brushes out there and it should not be shedding", but mine is

Kent makes one of the highest quality brushes out there if you ask me. My BLK is rock solid never looses a hair. I'm sure it lost a couple during the first few uses, but no longer looses any, ever.

The first thing I'd do it contact the vendor or supplier and see what they say. There are also some tips in the wiki Shedding Wiki

as for the quality of Kent Brushes...I'd put my Kent BLK8 up against ANY brush out there in terms of handle and knot quality.

If they made a variety of handle shapes and a few other loft options (shorter like the past LE's), they'd put a few brush makers out of business... many fear Kent's will be too floppy or they won't like the handle, but many are basing this on perceptions, some misconceptions, pics of soaking wet knot showing it floppy etc without ever having tried it.

I'd put my Kent BLK8 up against any brush in my lineup and can confidently say, Kent makes one of the finest brushes available regardless of price.

im not disputing the quality of the brand. I am iust inexperienced with badger brushes. I didnt word my first post very well which sounded like I was but I assure you that wasn't my intention.
I just wondered if it was normal for the brush to still be shedding hairs after 2 months.

No worries at all, I am just expressing my thoughts and experience with Kent and other brushes.

Contact the shop where you got it. Kent has a pretty good warranty.

As for the shedding issue, I addressed that in my initial response, as did Turtle, to contact the vendor. Shedding after 2 months of use is not normal and should be addressed by the vendor.

I'll be interested to hear what they say, so please make sure to post if you can. I've had my BK8 for a little over a month and love it. I think it's lost 2 hairs and I pulled one out that was hanging off the side and much shorter than all the others. I don't mash the hell out of it when lathering, but I don't treat it timidly either. Careful but with more than enough pressure to do a masterful job of building lather.

I'd imagine Kent will stand behind the brush and possibly even offer to replace it. I'd be shocked if some solution or compromise wasn't offered.

I emailed Kent last night, I was abit slack into getting around to sorting this out.
In the email I explained the problem and the lenght of time that I had been using it. All I asked was their opinion about it.
This morning I received an email at 9:20. They said it should not be shedding after this amount of time and that they will send out a new brush for me today. All they asked from me is that I send the old brush to their production address to be tested.

It is the best customer service that I have ever received and I will definately buy from the brand in the future.

You can't say fairer than that. Very reassuring as I have a BK8.

Awesome news. Kent came thru with flying colours with their response and how they deal with it. Fast, courteous and professional.
