Although they can be a bit more scratchy, varying with different inks and overall wear, I find I like to write best with the few Sheaffer Italic Fine nibs I've been able to find in those NoNonsense Calligraphy sets. I realize the standard ball-type fountain pen nibs glide much more smoothly, but I just like the look of my writing better with the italic! And in some ways, I think I like a bit of feedback from the pen as I write - maybe since I'm so used to the pressure used on ballpoints?
I'd like to say that I could get some use out of those Italic M or B nibs that come in the sets, but those are just way too wide for my uses.
(oops, I didn't obey my sig just now!)
