what method of shaving do you use to shave your head, is it from front to back or back to front
This isn't the question to ask -- rather, discover what the grain of your hair growth is; first shave with the grain, and then shave against the grain. Note that, on your neck and at the crown of your head, the grain may be sideways or spiral, necessitating some careful work to go against the grain.
I start with a front to back pass and follow it up with two back to front passes
I do two front to back passes, good enough for me.
totally against the grain and also in the shower sometimes as well
Usually just one back-to-front pass, with some cross-strokes in the mix.
In the shower for me. Mostly WTG, and then finish off ATG.
I find that front to back works great. As for the nape of the neck carefully go up against the grain. knowing this, it is most important to understand that the direction is not the most critical part of the head shave. Make sure you lubricate the skin properly (Pre-shave oil, and a good lubricating shave cream). Prep the area with a hot shower or steam towel. One more thing to note on is to map out your head if you are new to shaving your melon, a mole is a terrible thing to cut and even worse is putting septic on it. 
I go down from the crown to my neck and then up from the neck to the crown
