Shaving brush holder weakness

I have been experiencing a bit of a weakness for shaving brushes and their holders:

Got some serious work to do on the most buttery scotchy one.

Yeah, that black haired fuller is notorious for cracking like that. The first brush I ever bought was one of those. Wound up throwing it out. Wish I'd at least kept the stand. I've since seen a dozen or more of them on eBay, all cracked just like that.

I was thinking of digging out the knot and then epoxying it back together using clamps and a bit of jig. Is it really a waste of time? I hate to throw it out, but wasting time isn't great either. And I have a couple more of them.

No, it can probably be fixed. I tossed mine many months before I'd even considered the prospect of restoring brushes.

The one on the left looks like a giant Progress knob.

Very nice set. I bet that crack can be fixed with epoxy and a clamp. You may want to try a worm clamp on it
