Shavemac - Muehle Recommendations

I am thinking about getting either a Shavemac or Muehle brush. I use shaving soap exclusively and do not use shaving creams. Any recommendations or comparisons between the two? A medium sized brush is fine for me as well.

I also only use soaps. I recommend a custom Shavemac with a 21mm diameter/45mm loft knot in Finest hair. I consider 14mm to 19mm a small knot, just so you know where I'm coming from. Just email Bernd at Shavemac with the handle style and color, as well as the knot diameter, loft and hair grade you'd like. He'll then set up a personalized web page through which you can order your custom brush. If you go with Finest hair, it will cost as much or less than an off-the-shelf, standard Shavemac, but it will be everything you want it to be. I also think Shavemac's Finest hair grade is as good or better than a lot of Silvertip hair from some makers.

Hello,

You might consider a tailor made brush (here) which is more affordable than it sounds at Muhle.

I have one, looks like:

Mine is in olivewood.

I would recommend these for soaps.
I use mine almost exclusively with Trumpers soap and found it a great performer.

+1
Custom Shavemacs are incredible, the amount of customization is just staggering. I too recommend a 21mm / 45 mm brush in Finest, but if you've got any extra savings lying around, I would spring for the more expensive D01.

Thanks for the feedback on both everyone. I will need to look at both websites.
