Shaved my moustache & goatee

Well for the first time in six years or so I shaved my moustache and goatee. Trimmed down my sideburns.

Gonna grow in full chops though.

My wife and daughters are kind of freaking out.

The freak out of others when:
Shaving off my long bushy sideburns at 18. I had those for 6 years.
Shaving my head bald. There was just a crown left.
Growing a goatee and mustache.

It is your face. Enjoy and enjoy the freak out mode of others!

I had a goatee for maybe ten years, from the time my children were very small to less than a year ago. I have a very young looking face, but that sucker was turning gray, so off it went.

I have to say, it felt good to shave it off. Just to have my whole face smooth again, and it changed the appearance of my face fairly dramatically. I can't see myself going back to it unless I need to compensate for baldness which doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.

I shaved off my goatee and mustache (or, what some people call the Van Dyke) a few years ago, my wife and a few others seemed to tolerate the change for a few weeks. By the time they were ready for me to grow back my facial hair, I was also ready to go back to my normal look. Sadly, the salt is starting to catch up with the pepper in my beard. Fortunately, it is doing this at the same pace that my hair is changing.

I grew my goatee out to a full beard a few years ago, and chopped the whole lot off a month ago.

Going from beardie to smooth looking freaked me out for a few days until i adjusted to the look, and my girlfriend just about died when she saw me (we've been together for five years, and she'd never seen my chin!).

A month on though, and we all agree it's a better look. I'm going to keep it smooth for the forseeable future (unless i go skiing/artic, then the beard is going all norwegian!).
