Shark Chromes!

I've been using these for awhile now and I LOVE them! I find they work perfectly for me (much better than Derby's) and now I regret buying so many Derby's

Not to put a 'damper' on your love for these blades and that these blades were my 'go-to' blade, but lately Shark SC's are experiencing some QC/R&D problems. So, I'm trying out a Sampler of Russian blades.

The Shark Super Chrome and Supermax Platinum are my favorites. As I have more than I will need for my (and my sons) lifetime, I won't have to worry about any production problems. I'm sorry to hear about the QC problems, however as I recommend them both often to friends. I will say that I think I favor the Supermax a bit over the Shark. As everyone always says YMMV.

The current Shark SC is the only blade I truly despise... On the other hand, others simply love them. I gave away most of a 100 pack to other members as a PIF, and still have a few packs left. Blade preferences amaze me, but after having a good time with old Shark blades, I can't help but to think there is a serious problem in the Egyptian manufacturing centers lately...

I have a five pack of the newest version and they are the best for me thus far; I love them! I have some stainless ones, too but I haven't tried them yet.

These are in line for me to test. I'm trying the Lord Super Chromes right now, which seem like a good blade. I've often wondered what the differences (if any) between these and the Shark SC's, since they're made by the same company.

Didn't know that!

Yup, Lord makes Shark blades, along with lesser-known labels such as Big Ben, ASCO, and Racer. I've noticed others commenting on the quality control issues from this factory, hopefully those don't become too widespread.

I have both asco and sharks sc's and they are great for me. But the may not be the latest production run.

I've never tried the SC's but the SS's have always been a favorite. My latest Shark's are in the new style packaging but I have yet to notice any change or problems in quality.

I need to revisit this blade.

The Shark SS worked alright for me, but the SC tore up my face.

My technique has improved since then, so I will definitely have to give it another shot.

When I first started shaving the Shark SC in my EJ was a joy, a great shave and it quickly became my favourite blade but since switching to the R41, I'm struggling with them. I tried during Shark week to use them but ended up ditching them to save my face and decided to revisit them again for today's shave. I still got a couple of nicks - nothing serious but having not nicked myself since I last used them so it's a worrying pattern. Agin in the R41 these just don't feel comfortable. Not sure if I'm getting the angle right but I've been using Feather, Astra SP and Bolzano in the R41 and been having great shaves.

Not sure if I just don't get on with the Shark in the R41 so will have to revisit them in the EJ next. I'll stick with the blade for the rest of the week to see how I get on with it but I was going to get my first 100 blade order with these but, sadly, they look like being forgotten for something else.

which razor are you using?
I thought derby's were so-so until I tried them with a Gillette NEW where they were superb.

I use them in...Tech's, Old Type, Lady Gillette...a few others. It's only good in the Lady Gillette. I used one in a Tech, and my face will not tolerate a blade for a few days now. Even touching my face with the blade as light as humanly possible it still killed my face.

I'm between Astra Superior Platinum and the Shark Super Chrome blade. I really like both, the ASP feels smoother, the SC feels more precise/direct.
Very much hope they recover from the QC issues...

I really like the Shark SuperChromes. How can you tell if the lot is part of the "RD/QC issues"?

I also like SuperMax SuperPlat, Astra SP's, Gillette Blacks, Personna Lab/Reds...damn, I have a lot of blades.

I bought a carton of Shark SS 'cause I liked 'em. Very good decision. Then, I saw a vendor who shipped me 300 of the Chromes for US 7¢ apiece. I'm in DE heaven!
