Shapleigh hardware straight

A few weeks ago I picked up a Shapleigh barber hone at a antique store. I scored this Shapleigh straight on the bay. turnes out it was pretty new. never been honed and in fantastic shape. Honed it up and just had a great shave. now I need a strop from the same little hardware store in ST. Loise.

ps. I didnt use this hone. though it will touch up a razor real nice. I also got some welsh slate hones and honed with Norton and finished on one of the slates. wowsa! The bevel is so tiny. I use alot of very old straights and mosts have some hone wear and bevels that can be seen more easily. Dont know all the degrees of HTT, but I could hold a hair 2 inches out and pop hair in half with no sound. very happy with this razor.

I restored a Shapleigh for a friend some time ago, and I got to shave with it before I gave it to him. It was a really nice little razor.

Nice stuff, pretty blade. A Shapleigh set sounds interesting... wonder what other barbering stuff they sold?
