I'm late posting this, but I thought the nib would like to know what a nib show on the other side of the world would be like.
It was pretty hot in this small room. Not a ton of walking space at all. The pens weren't that exotic. You have your lamy's , pelikans, I saw like 4 twsbis and one mont blanc mixed in with Auroras but other than that nothing special.
Here is a nibmeister that will customize your nib for you. Unfortunately I had a bent vintage waterman and he could do nothing with it.... Also the guy was Japanese to my surprise.
I was expecting this pen god to show up that gets talked about on the pen forums here. The only time you can only visit him is on Saturdays and he is only open from 3-5 and payment is made in bottles of ink.... but sadly no where to be found. Also, I would say a good 45% of dealers were Japanese. I did pick up a Pilot custom 743 , but there was nothing really special that caught my eye.
All in all, it wasn't that bad. I was just expecting someone to have ink samples ( The japanese dealer did have a take-sumi (Black)) and have a more varied collection of pens. Vintage pens are non existent and everything is pretty much in line with what you can find on modern pen websites. Maybe I'm just complaining because I compare it to American pen shows. Anywho, its safe to say that fountain pen users are not that numerous but I expect better things to come. With all the stationary that gets sold here, I'm surprised it wasn't bigger. It had limited invites but I don't think anyone missed out on anything spectacular. If you have any questions, just write it in the comments
