Sensor Excel Handle

Just wondering if the Excel was manufactured with metal handles rather than the plastic that you currently see in stores.

I'm seem to remember first shaving with a metal handle Excel but I'm going back 18 years so who knows.

If I remember right, the original Sensor handles were a chromey looking metal with black plastic grippers, and the original Sensor Excel handles were Brushed aluminum with grey rubber grippers. I saw a NOS special edition Sensor handle from Gillette on ebay a few weeks ago and it was silver plated (but still had the black plastic grippers).

I snagged the Silver Sensor, need to add an Excel now.

I wonder if the Excel had any special editions. I'll get a brushed aluminum one for now.
