Semogue Owner's Club SOC Love Thread

Well, after much deliberation and finding a killer deal at Vintage Scent, I finally pulled the trigger on the Semogue SOC! I cannot wait; I've been eying this brush for a long time and I'm hoping for the B&B community to pull together and get me thoroughly AMPED!

My current brush line-up is as follows: ER150 w/ 22mm TGN Finest XH Bulb, B&B Essentials Orange, Semogue 620 and the Omega Mighty Midget Mixed. I prefer larger brushes as I shave my head daily and well... I have a bulbous dome.

What I hope for this thread:
- Semogue SOC LOVE
- Pictures!
- Positivity

How much action does your SOC get? Has it lived up to it's expectations, etc?

My SOC super badger came to me as per the suggestion of Lee from Lee's razors. I was hesitant at first because it is a newer brush and does not have the pedigree that say a Simpson does. It is however a great priced super so I went for it. I love it, I use it every day, its great for face or bowl lathering, it has a beautiful handle and feels great. Welcome to the owners club owners club.

I am a huge Semogue fan, except for the SOC brushes. The boar, badger and mixed are all out of rotation as I found them all to have qualities that weren't my cup of tea. The boar was too large, the badger too scritchy and the mixed was just too stiff. I do enjoy my other six regular production boar brushes immensely though and look forward to someday using one of their silvertip or best badger brushes when they produce one with a lower loft. The quality of craftsmanship on the SOC brushes are undeniably high, and if the performance matches your expectations then they are all an extreme value. Unfortunately for me there isn't an SOC that satisfies my high demands (yet).

Out of all the brushes I tried Semogue is my favorite. But I just don't like boars that much, it's not that they don't perform very well but I don't like the way they look on the shelf.

I just got my first a 620 today i'm keen to see how it goes , I'm thinking about an SOC next

Keep the pics coming chaps, I'm *THIS* close to pulling the trigger on an SOC boar in cherry!

Do it now! They're only $30 from overseas; half the price of lowest end Simpson brushes and widely regarded as the Michael Jordan of Boars. It was a no brainier after reading the influx of positivity. I'm dying to get mine!!

I have both the SOC boar and 2-band badger in cherry. I used the SOC boar this morning face lathering La Toja. IMO, it's probably the best value in brushes, period. I find myself reaching for it over my Simpsons Chubby 2 much of the time.

Daaamnn that's a nice looking brush. As far as value, TGN finest are right up there too. The SOC is going to be my favorite; I can just tell. I love big brushes and I love Semogues!!

I just received my SOC 2-band in Cherry this afternoon. I used it for the first time tonight with some brick Cella and that thing made some really impressive lather for both of my passes. It's a beautiful looking brush, comfortable to use, whips up a mean lather, and is an incredible value. My only complaint? It has a little bit more scritch than I typically care for. Other than that, this brush is absolutely amazing and I'm glad to be in the club!
