Semogue 1440

Look what the mailman brought today. I saw it on a portuguese online shop for €4.25. It was so cheap and similarly looking to my other Semogue, the 221, that I couldn't resist ordering and compare the handles.



On the left is the Semogue 221. I bought it last year for €3.75 in an old drug store. It had the "Excelsior" sticker. On the right is the newer (?) Semogue 1440. Handle shapes and loft look identical. Except in the bottom, where the 221 has a less rounded edge, which I prefer for a less slipper surface.

Nice to see photos of Semogue brushes that are less common here in the U.S.

Very cool, I like the less common Handles from Semogue, I had a Drug Store grade Green Barrel-shaped 1140 Semogue which had Gray/Black Boar Bristles, very stiff, scrubby & massive scritch. I didn't have the patience or thick skin to break it in and PIFed it, I sometimes wish I would have re-knotted the Handle.
