For the second time in 3 months, I have stumbled upon an Eclipse Red Ring in the wild.
This one came to me via an elderly couple in my region. They got word that I collected and contacted me. I had a very interesting visit with them tonight when I picked it up.
The husband, who is over 90 years old was the original owner of the razor! His dad bought it for him when he was around 16 years old as his first razor. Many years later, he has since switched to electrics. I didn't bother trying to bring him back into the fold. At 90+ years of age it's unlikely he's looking for new hobbies
Apparently they had this razor stored at their cottage that they owned for some 45 years sitting in a drawer. They recently sold and were about to throw this away when the wife thought "maybe somebody collects this junk"
As this is my second one, it will likely wind up for sale at some point. Still good to know there are nice things out there waiting to be found. Makes me shudder to think what does wind up in the trash though.....
After a quick first round cleaning...
