Seaforth SS

Hello All,

I recently picked up an unused, mint Seaforth shaving mug that included a puck of Seaforth SS

Has anyone ever used Seaforth SS?? If so, what's it like?? Should this set be used or left pristine??

The decision is difficult and I'm waffling. Need a nudge one way or the other so help me out here.

Thanks

Lucky you! I am of Scottish heritage and have been trying to get my hands on a vintage Seaforth mug in decent shape. Seems like every one I watch on Ebay gets sold to someone else.

I don't have any experience with the soap you mention so I can't comment on how it performs. I'm sure somebody will be along shortly who has used it. But I'd say use it. I picked up some Yardleys shaving soap and I'm amazed at how well it performs. I also have some vintage Colgate (thanks, Jon) and it is a great performer as well. I've found it surprising how well these old soaps can perform. I say - use it.

I'd use it too. I guess that I just don't have the self-discipline necessary to be a collector. I either want to keep using something that's I've always liked or I want to try out something that's just about gone. Put brush to soap and shave with that bad boy. The day you hit the bottom of the mug will be a day that you know you have enjoyed something special for a nice long while.

I have one that I'll be using soon. IMO vintage soap is like wine, You can't enjoy it if you don't use it. What's the point of watching your vintage soap collection go rancid as time goes by? See my Yardley thread.

I have it - I use it... it's pretty good; the scent is quite gone from mine.

This is not a real rarity from what I see (turns up pretty often on dbay) - but I'm with the other guys here. You must use it - anybody who would want it is here already and only wants it to use - not to look at!

I have a puck and use it from time to time .It is a very good soap, you will enjoy it .I have also had foolish comments from that guy.
Cheers Rocket
