Sea Breeze

My wife was a big fan of the old formulation of Sea Breeze (she used the yellow variety). They changed the formulation a few years ago and the new one is utter garbage to her. Can anyone recommend a comparable product?

I'm afraid that other than wetshaving products, I don't know a lot about health and beauty items. If there's something else out there, perhaps produced outside the US, that would be a very comparable substitute, I'd like to find it.

I've had to listen to her complain for a few years now, and I'm getting sick of it.

I did not care for Sea Breeze Actives formulation. But this one is apparently the original formula:

I remember my grandmother using Sea Breeze, the smells always brings back great memories for me.

The "Actives" is the new version. IIRC, the old version had peppermint oil and the "Actives" does not. There are may be other differences.

My wife found a blog on the internet a few years ago, right after the original had been discontinued, that apparently was dedicated to the old version and they mounted some sort of grassroots protest. Supposedly, the company that produces this was going to bring back the old formula in response to all of the protest, ala Old Coke vs. New Coke. But all she can find is the new "Actives" variety.


I'll check out the links provided, and see if it's what I'm looking for.


Thanks for the help. My wife complains bitterly once a week or so about the loss of this product. I'd be willing to pay big bucks for a case or so of the original, and then wrap it up for her for X-mas. She'd appreciate that more than anything else I could get her.

I stopped at Wally World and bought a bottle for the wife. She's SO excited, I'm just sorry that we didn't realize that it was re-released back in Feb.

She says she's going to show her appreciation to me in a BIG way tonight, after the daughter goes to bed.

My wife used to use Sea Breeze but I started her on Thayer's and she loves it. It's so much better for your face.

The smell of Thayers Medicated Superhazel actually reminds me of Sea Breeze.

My wife and I have used Sea Breeze (Sensitive Skin) for over 30 years. I used it as aftershave when I shaved with a cartridge, but switched to witch hazel when I began using a DE. My wife still prefers Sea Breeze over Thayers or Dickinson WH. Did the Sensitive Skin version change too?
