Is there any SE that shaves like a BIC metal by chance? I love this disposal and really only am searching as I do not want to keep using plastic disposables. I was thinking a AC razor like a Vector, but would love input from you more tenured guys.
An injector? Can’t find one if so…Schick M5 comes to my mind.
An injector? Can’t find one if so… I used the supply injector and it’s not nearly as precise as the bic metal when edging.
Doesn’t seem like one can order this razor?Definitely not a Vector. Rough, bitey thing. Brrrrrr.
The Atelier Durdan La Faulx with the standard ‘classique’ plate is pretty close to the feel of the Bic Metal. Obviously much heavier than the Bic plastic, but the way the head and blade feel are very similar to me.
I went down a rabbit hole and now really want a Schick O clone. They seem impossible to get.The M series are vintage Schicks from the 1960s, IIRC. Fairly light in weight. Really any of the classic Schicks is probably the closest thing. The G series is one of the more user-friendly models. Here is a thread on those:
Schick Type G injectors for dummies
The aim of this thread is to categorize the Type G razors in a way that is easier understood for the average collector so as such I will not being using Appleby's designations other than the Type G label to describe them at all. They will be presented in chronological order with the variations...www.badgerandblade.com
I've been looking since 2008.I went down a rabbit hole and now really want a Schick O clone. They seem impossible to get.
I’ll see if I come across one , but so far, no luck. The razor I own which is most like the Bic Metal is not an SE at all. In terms of the balance, and feel in the hand, then for me it is my 1970 Tech shown below. It is specifically the lightweight, long black plastic handle which makes this Tech more like the Bic Metal than it is like any other Tech I have tried.

Interesting suggestion. How does this razor shave? Are the blade tabs covered in this model? The modern, and readily available, equivalent is the Gillette Silver Blue from Gillette Shanghai. Found on AliE and such sites.

This was to Richards @EclipseRedRing suggestion of a 70s Tech with plastic handle. I’m in the Injector camp for replicating the Bic MetalInteresting suggestion. How does this razor shave? Are the blade tabs covered in this model?
