SE custom handles?

There are plenty of custom handles for 3-piece DE razors. Does anyone make handles for the single-edge razors with removable handles? Perhaps someone makes an adapter which screws into a DE handle and has the male screw the SE razor heads need..... Suggestions welcome!

I think Rod Nip offered one a while ago, as part of a combo.
I'd also contact Rudy Vey or Elite Razors.

Except for the Damaskeene, the handle threads are usually interchangeable.

Go to the hardware store buy a 10\32 set screw, screw it into the head of the razor and use your DE handles. I don't think this will work with Lather Catchers or at least it does not with mine. I have done this to a 1912.

It's a Lather Catcher I need a handle for. Why won't it work?

Interesting... any pics?

I took some for you real quick.

What Lather Catcher do you own? Pics?

The reason it doesn't work with mine is the threads are smaller than my other SE razors. If your Lather Catcher will take a 1912 or Shovelhead handle it will work.

Bumping this back up as I was looking for a solution for my "too short" SE handle. I got the shortest 10x32 screw that I could find at the hardware store. It's a 1/2" screw which is too long to fit inside the razor to have the head attached to a new handle. I used a metal saw to shorten the screw and then used a dremel to buff the tip so it's smooth. Also, I wouldn't cut myself if I take the screw out to re-attach the original handle.

The result is perfect. First test drive tomorrow. Yes it's a Frankenrazor. Yes, the handle is not stock anymore. Between that and a DE custom handle, no difference. The weight of the handle is not the issue, it's the length. If it was an aluminum handle, it would work fine.

Cost : a box of 10x32 - 10 screws : $2.49

I had the saw, dremel and DE handle.

The new handle is fantastic. The shave was even better than with the original handle. If you haven't tried this and looking for something new, I would strongly recommend trying a DE handle!

That's pretty cool, I think I might have to give that a try.
I might cut the head of a screw and use it as a stud in the handle.
Thx for posting this!
