Sandalwood Splash

I'm looking to find a good sandalwood splash, just a dry note similar to the C&E sandalwood. Unfortunately they only offer the balm. I have tried the SCS sandalwood splash and found it to be far to sweet(almost perfume like) and found no traces of sandalwood in it. But I digress, suggestions?

I haven't checked C&E's web site, but last summer their outlet at the Ala Moana shopping center in Honolulu had C&E sandalwood splash. As I understood it from the shop attendant, they had started offering it again. To me it smelled exactly like their sandalwood cream - dry and soapy. For a dry sandalwood splash I would suggest Caswell-Massey. Not sure about GFT, but TOBS and DR Harris sandalwood splashes have a good deal of spice (which I personally like).

Doric, I must correct myself twice over. It was C&E sandalwood cologne that they brought back, not aftershave splash. And I believe that C-M only makes sandalwood cologne and balm - no splash. Bottom line is that I do not have a solution for you. C-M makes a line of cologne and aftershave splash called Tricorn, which is suppose to be sandalwood. However, I find it more vanilla than sandalwood. However, that is my nose. Others find it a nice sandalwood, and it is a bit dry.

Tried the Tricorn splash this morning specifically for this occasion. It is quite nice: definite sandalwood with just a touch of either amber or vanilla. I think it would not match but would complement something like Tam Dao.

I have the TOBS Sandalwood splash and the Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood.

If you are just looking for Sandalwood, I'd go with the TOBS. I like the Ogallala, but IMO the Bay Rum overshadows the sandalwood.

In a pinch, you can dilute your favorite cologne with Thayer's Aftershave (I think their regular witch hazel formulas aren't strong enough and make the mix cloudy.)
