Has anyone else looked on Amazon for sample packs? I found one that has 18 different blades: Derby Extras, Shark Super Stainless, Crown Super Stainless, Lord Super, Lord Platinum Class, Lord Super Chrome, Lord Classic, Asco Super Stainless, Vidyut Super Max Platinum, Vidyut Super Max Stainless, Big Ben Super Stainless, Treet Classic, Astra Superior Stainless, Blue Bird High Stainless, Trig Silver Edge Stainless, Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless, Feather Hi Stainless, And a Mystery Blade in no box, but still factory wrapped(?). 100 blades total, and all for only $20 shipped. Been looking everywhere for the best deal with the most variety, and I think I may have hit the mother lode! Think this is the one I'll try, and I'll get back to everyone in about 4 1/2 months with reviews. Ha ha!

you are in good shape. I don't see Red Israeli, but I do see Blue Bird, SuperMax, and Asta, which are all great blades. Looks like a good deal!

I've already tried the red Israeli and Astra Superior Platinum, and liked them both, although I think I favor the Astra slightly. Since I've already used the IP's, I wasn't too concerned about finding a sampler that included them.
I think sampler packs are a great thing, providing a variety to ‘experiment with’.
I have tried the Lord Platinum and Super in each of my razors (Futur, Progress, DE89L, and Merkur Classic). Both blades (Super or Platinum) did not get a second shave from either razor, and I can say there will not be another Lord blade placed into any of my razors again as long as I own them. And yes, I did use a fresh blade with each attempt.
At first I figured the poor performance and huge areas of irritation may have been specific to just the razor, or even technique, but not with all four; especially considering I have nowhere near the suffering experienced with the Lords when I use other blades, like Feather, Derby, Merkur (which always give DFS or BBS), and that even Wilkinson’s and Walmart Personna’s performed better for me.
As always, everyone is as different as their opinions, so Lord blades may be the best blade for some people, just not me. Another reason to substantiate getting sampler packs so that you can get that first hand experience how the blades work for you.

There are a lot of obscure blades in that sampler. Maybe you'll be lucky and find the blade of your dreams in there, but it seems like a disproportionate number of people settle on one of the standard Derby/Feather/IP/7AM blades which are widely and cheaply available.

Honestly I don't think one blade to test is good enough to make a decision down the road of buying blades in bulk. I'd get a sampler with less variety and 5 blades per type. I also agree with above poster that there is obscure blades in this set.
I put together my own sample pack based on reviews. Got them from BullGoose Shaving Supplies.
I have seen that sampler pack and thought about getting it. The vendor that sells it is something like Wish4Star if I remember correctly. I ordered an Omega shave brush off of them right after Christmas and found them to have excellent customer service.

Jooky, the vendor is Wish4Star on Amazon, and he shipped the day after I ordered. Not too bad on the customer service, if you ask me. Now the impatient waiting begins. Seems like I enjoy waiting on packages to arrive just a little too much.
Rainman, this sampler pack has at least 5 blades of each variety, I think 2 of them come with 10 blades each, so not too shabby! Hopefully the "obscure" blades will be surprise performers.
