I have a beard. It is a mild, trimmed and manicured one, but I have had it for 20 years (Last time I was completely clean shaven was when the Steelers lost Superbowl XXX to the Cowboys in 1995 and I lost a bet, and had to shave.....).
That being said, my wife gets very angry when I shave from a typical beard to a goatee style beard (which I do at time to mix it up). She actually likes the beard and scruff. My son has never known me without facial hair, so he too watched closely when I shave.... And even though I have some "lighter colored"
hairs taking over, I actually get compliments!
So, I guess I am just a lucky guy because I like my beard, and at the same time, I like to keep it well groomed, so shaving works it's way in nicely!
