I picked this Rubberset 200-4 up the other day at an antique shop. I wonder if the knot can be straightened and salvaged. Any recommendations?
Soak until it’s completely saturated and then comb it out and letting it dry without that cap or whatever this is.
Give it a soak and lather it up, see what happens? You can always re knot it if it doesn’t work out. Very nice score!
Chances are slim to none on salvaging. It will never fully go back to original shape and will start to come apart with each use.
