Retro Candy

Sue,
Whats scary is that some of the candies on this site that are Retro I remember when they were first introduced! Does that make me RETRO!

Some things you can buy directly from the vendor, like Mallo Cups and Necco wafers.

But I have ordered from Old Time Candy. Download their brochure/order form for a full list of what they have. No problems with my order.

Just a word of caution on chocolates/soft candies: ordering in the summer can result in melting. I tend to order my stuff in cooler weather (Bun bars and Mallo Cups, in particular).

Sue, have you tried finding a local shop? It might take a little research, but I'm sure there's a shop run by an elderly couple somewhere near you.

Did you see the toy section? I'm going to have to order several of those. Thank you for pointing me to this site.

Ir's hot here, wonder if the dry ice will hold up?

You've redeemed yourself Matthew .

One of my favorites was candy cigarettes. Traded a box for a real one and was caught smoking with my girlfriends in the girls bathroom at school--expelled for a week.

Be careful young man!

Yeah, respect your elders mretzloff. Kids these days...

Hmm, I see someone mention Necco wafers. The chocolate ones rule! Darn things are harder to find nowadays then I even remember though and I'm 25! :frown:

BlackJack Gum.
Clove Gum.
Parkers Nut Roll.(can get at Dollar Tree)
Actually, a good chunk of that stuff can usually be found at Dollar Tree, maybe not in the correct packaging, but the same stuff inside. (boston baked beans in a bag, not a box, that kind of stuff.)

Oh my! :frown2: Matthew, I hope you're not that direct with all the women in your life or there won't be any left.

I'm going to be ordering 'retro' candy later this month for delivery in early August. Anyone have an on-line vendor to recommend? I'm looking at this site:
http://www.nostalgiccandy.com/

I was looking at that link and I don't think I've ever tried a single one of their offerings. I've heard of some of them (mostly in black and white movies and old reruns that my Grandfather watched). What's the interest in old candies?

My brothers will be here in August. The three of us used to go to the penny candy store (actually it was a liquor store that also sold candy) when we were kids and thought it would be fun to have their favorites just for grins. I'm going to make our favorites of moms meals. We three haven't been together at the same time for several years. I can't wait! I loves my brothers .
