Restored Brush as a gift question

I am giving my future son-in-law an ER 200T that I have restored for his upcoming birthday. My question is: Do I clean the brush before I give it to him or do I give him the brush with the cleaning instructions (Whipped Dog knot)?

I think this depends on how into wet shaving he is. If he is an avid wet shaver, he will likely want to see the knot pre and post bloom (as I would). If you are attempting to impart your hobby to him, go ahead and clean it as he will likely not really appreciate this process yet. BTW, I need to see pics of that 200T! I had my eye on a couple black and green 200's recently on the Bay and just had bad timing in trying to bid.
