What's new

Rescued by Muhle Pinsel

Gentlemen,

When I bought my Edwin Jagger Chatsworth Barley, I failed to notice that it arrived with a Merkur head. At least I think it looks like a Merkur head. Unless, of course, all the Barley series have the Merkur heads, or perhaps not so the new ones and that I was sent an older razor.

The razor is beautiful, nevertheless, but for some reason it failed to give me the sweet shave I expected. On studying the razor closely this week I discovered the Merkur head. Aha! That may have been the problem with the razor. I have nothing against Merkur; I just prefer the Muhle-Pinsel head.

Well, gentlemen, I put a Muhle-Pinsel head on this gorgeous razor and, voila!, she is a queen.

Perhaps some of you experts can expound on the subject of EJ Chatsworth Barley heads. I appreciate the information. Many thanks.

Regards,

I just ordered an Edwin Jagger Chatsworth with the horn handle. It is supposed to come with the new Muhle head.

If it doesn't, it's going back.

To me, the Muhle R89 has it over the Merkur C38, but we all have our different preferences - as they say, YMMV...

Rob,

Yes, do send it back if it does not come with the Muhle head. I, of course, did not realize the head was not Muhle until several months later. Had I known, I would have sent it back.

Still, it's a beautiful razor. Merkur is also a good razor, but I favor the Muhle and Jagger. It's a matter of taste, I suppose.

In the meantime, as I said in my original post, the Muhle head works wonders in my Chatsworth Barley.

Regards,

Obelit
