Replating a GEM 1912?

Hi everyone. I just got myself a nice old GEM 1912 and I would like to have it replated. I do not want to do it myself, I prefer leaving this to people who have done this (successfully, of course) before. Any ideas if and where I could get it done in CONUS or in Europe? I have attached a few pics to show the extend of the work needed.
Thanks!

Hi there.:smile:you could re-plate the razor, but it would be expensive compared to buying a similar razor in minty condition. Gem's are very cheap at present.

I'm guessing you've already considered the value issue, but still wish to re-plate it (nothing wrong with that).

The question I have then is why ship it all over the world? (Shipping may then cost even more than the replating). Is there nowhere locally to get this done? Perhaps in another province or on one of the other Islands close to you?

If for whatever reason it must go out of Country, again Europe is much closer (so shipping should cost less). I've read of places in the UK referenced by other Members.

If in the end, it must come to the US, there are lots of choices. We do have a Member here who is a Jeweler, who also collects and replates razors. His name is Buddydog, and he would be high on my list.
