Repair Schick Krona

I tried searching for this topic, but didn't see any results here or on google, so I figured I'd check with you guys:

Yesterday, I received a small lot of razors, including a nice looking Krona. The only problem is, the head turns in a circle with the TTO knob unless you hold the head. Has anyone encountered this and know of a fix? I have a couple other Kronas, so I may tinker around with it, but I'd rather not ruin the thing if possible.

Thanks!

This thread is over a year old, but here it goes anyway. I too have the same problem with a Krona that i got, it looked like garbage but now its looking good but i have to hold neck under base plate so as to make it close and open, otherwise it comes apart, help if anyone is knowledgeable, I'm sure some one is, this is B&B...:001_smile

My metal tip has the spinning head issue, works fine the head just spins when you loosen it to change the blade. Didn't seem to be a major issue so I just figured on leaving it as is.

Thank you for the tip, i would have never thought of that. I will get the epoxy asap.
Make sure you clean the area up with rubbing alcohol before applying epoxy. Be careful, do not secure the moving parts which are not supposed to freeze.

Not really applicable to op...but I need a krona end cap...anyone have a clue as to who might stock them...etsy..ebay no good :-(

Someone might have some Schick Krona spares in their collection. Nothing wrong with resurrecting an old thread that might be of assistance to you.

No one, asfaik. Get another Krona or a Gillette for spares. Gillette caps will fit the Krona, there is some difference in their shapes, but not really noticeable.

Hi all,

No Schick! This morning (5.4.19) I found a very nice condition (per my quick research)
vintage Schick Krona date coded 12M5. I'm in the process of letting it soak in hot/soapy water before I get to the more serious "detailing" (which is hardly needed). In addition to the Schick, I found some "spare parts" for a vintage Gillette "Old Type" Razor (Cap and Base). Not too bad a deal, all for five dollars! I look forward to learning more about the "Schick Krona" Razor(s) in general as they are the new players to my collection. That being said, the build quality of the "Krona" appears to be decent however, is a faaaar cry from the vintage Schick "Repeating" Razor I acquired earlier this past week. The over ninety year old "Repeating Schick" is made like a NASA precision Instrument! Crazy!
