Removing blue corrosion from brass

I have a Gillette Old type that is badly tarnished. It looks like it was dredged from the wreck of RMS Titanic with several large patches of blue corrosion. I suspected bronze disease until I soaked it in soapy hot water for several minutes and cleaned it with a toothbrush and toothpaste. That removed the outer layer of corrosion but the last remnants are too stubborn to remove this way.

I think the razor can be brought back to user grade condition but I was wondering what is the best way to remove the remaining tarnish. Is soaking the razor in boiling water with bicarbonate of soda an effective method? I'm not worried about preserving whatever remains of the gold plating.

keep at it with the toothbrush and toothpaste and it'll come off with some elbow grease, or hunt down some MAAS metal polish

I use scrubbing bubbles and a toothbrash. I also use a toothpick to get the stubborn stuff out from the nooks and crannies.
