Red Tip vs. Slant

I've heard some talk about how aggressive a red tip is, how agressive is it compaired to a slant? A red tip is my #1 razor right now and I'd like to try a slant, but I was wondering how they compaired?

The slant I had shaved no different then a 33c that I had at the time, I sold the sland and got a open comb Gillette New

ok, how does a 33c shave? Is it aggressive or mild?

I've used both, Slant and Red Tip. Slant is definitely more aggressive, but the Red Tip gives a smoother shave.

I have a Slant and I love it, but you will just have to try the Slant for yourself since everyone will have a different opinion and can't tell you how it will work for your face.

Unfortunately, it is usually the correct answer in these types of situations. The great part is, you can try different razors and not lose much money, if any at all, if you decide to sell it.

I found a slant to be easier on my face than a red tip. The only way to know is to try it yourself They both go fast on BST if you decide you don't like them.

I have & shave with both, my take, & my 2 cents only is that the Red Tip is more aggressive, the Merkur slant is a bit easier for the inexperienced, not as good for quality of construction obviously, but a good low line shaver

I have two slants and a Red Tip I haven't tried yet. I will have to dig it out...

With good technique, a Tech shaves as well as a Red Tip or a Slant, it's just Different.

The blade gap is certainly bigger on the Red Tip than the Tech, and even more so for the Slant, but blade gap doesn't tell the whole story. There's head geometry, weight and heft of the razor, a lot of little things.

You just have to try them and see what you like best.

I had this same dilemma, but really I was more than satisfied with the Red Tip, so I went on to bid $20 for a near mint quality one. My current Red Tip is a beater compared to it, hopefully I will take her home
