Red Tip - US vs British

What are the differences between the US and the British versions of Gillette's razors. I'm talking specifically about the red tip, but I guess it applies to all.

Design?
Quality?
Rarity?
Cost?
Shave?
Other?

The Brit Red Tip has a larger blade gap than the US counterpart (0.81 mm vs 0.66 mm). The weights are about the same, though.

Every Brit Gillette I've had seemed more solid than their US counterpart, so I'd guess that would apply to the Red Tip too.

The Brit versions can be much more expensive, though. I was offered a mint one for $200.

EDIT: I can't answer the 'desirable' question. Only you can determine that for yourself.

My British Gillettes just seem to be a better quality razor.

I don't know why but they do.
