Any suggestions for fixing this? I’ve soaked it a while already. I’ve never taken a razor apart, either. Any thoughts?

Sure! I'm not yet quite brave enough to start "fixing" any of my razors, so it's great that these people are around. There are a bunch of others too.

Straightening the end cap will easily synchronize the opening and closing. There are a few threads out there showing this technique. Be careful not to knock the end cap off.

A small screwdiver to slightly open the gap between the endcap and base was all it took. Perfect alignment now. Thanks guys!
