Recovery socks

A local running/bike store recommends recovery socks for use after an endurance event. Does anyone have any experience with them? It looks like they have the same purported benefits as compression socks--increased blood flow resulting in faster recovery. Some of the socks are also dual-purpose--compression during the event and recovery after it.

Thanks.

I never use them except to keep my feet from swelling when I travel. There is no better recovery from an event or a training that you can get than a good recovery drink and meal after.

As far as blood circulation, your blood is pumping so fast after training normally there would not be a problem. During recovery you are trying to replenish lost nutrients as quickly as possible to be able to avoid injury, fatigue, illness and bounce back for the next event. The best time for that is within the first 30 minutes after training or your event.
