Your current hardware is excellent IMO! I love the combination of a mild/moderate razor plus a sharp blade.

I suggest you stick with what you have for awhile until your technique is really solid. Then you can establish where to go next (and you may not do much better)!

Try the Gillette Old and New types, along with a 1940's Superspeed.

There are a lot of aspects to the hobby. A lot of good suggestions here. You can also try out some new brushes and soaps or creams. Maybe lather bowls or scuttles too.
